Recently, Sichuan Gokin Solar Energy Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Sichuan Gokin"), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Gokin Solar Energy, obtained the PAS2060 carbon neutrality certification issued by the globally renowned certification body SGS, becoming Gokin Solar's first "zero carbon factory"! This achievement marks another major breakthrough for Gokin Solar in promoting the development of the green energy industry, and also sets a new benchmark for the photovoltaic field.
A 'zero carbon factory' refers to a factory that generates greenhouse gas emissions within the accounting boundary of greenhouse gas emissions within a certain period of time (usually on an annual basis), and achieves net zero carbon emissions through independent emission reduction and emission reduction projects outside the accounting boundary, or by offsetting the corresponding amount of carbon credits.
Sichuan Gokin will be completed and put into operation in 2022, adhering to the development concept of "green, low-carbon, and sustainable" from landing to full production, actively responding to the national "dual carbon" strategy. In the process of implementing carbon neutrality projects in 2023, Sichuan Gokin took multiple measures to actively reduce carbon emissions by switching energy structures, rooftop photovoltaic power generation, introducing advanced production equipment and technology, and carrying out energy-saving and consumption reducing projects, reducing a total of about 470000 tons of carbon emissions.
In addition, Sichuan Gokin actively promotes the concept of circular economy, achieving maximum utilization of resources through waste recycling, resource reuse, and other means. Driven by a series of effective carbon reduction measures, Sichuan Gokin passed the on-site audit from SGS on February 22 this year and received its PAS2060 carbon neutrality certification on March 5.
The certification of Sichuan Gokin as a "zero carbon factory" not only showcases Gokin Solar's achievements in sustainable development, but also reflects the company's recognition of zero carbon practices in energy structure, production technology, equipment selection, process management, and other aspects. At the same time, this is also an important milestone for Gokin Solar to move towards carbon neutrality goals, and its successful experience will provide valuable inspiration and reference for the photovoltaic industry and even the wider manufacturing industry.
In addition to Sichuan Gokin, Gokin Solar's two major production bases in Jinwan, Zhuhai and Xining, Qinghai have also been awarded the national "Green Factory" title.
